Dr Ben Oosthuyse is a qualified and recommended general surgeon in Mossel Bay who specializes in general surgical procedures.

His solo private practice as a surgeon was established in Mossel Bay at the end of 2017. He went into private practice to have the necessary state of the art equipment and resources available to provide high-quality surgical care in a timely fashion.

Dr Oosthuyse is passionate about identifying and treating diseases early in the disease course and preventing severe morbidity and mortality with a special interest in oncology surgery, thyroid surgery, and endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy).

Dr Oosthuyse acquired his MBChB in 2008 from the University of the Free State. He did his internship at the Bethlehem Provincial Hospital from 2009 to 2010 and his community service at the Bethlehem Provincial Hospital and the Phekolong District Hospital in 2011. Dr Oosthuyse worked as a Medical Officer in Surgery at Bethlehem Provincial Hospital in 2012. He specialized further and received his Fellowship of the College of Surgeons in 2017 and his MMed (Surgery) in 2018 from the University of the Free State.
